Kilimanjaro Umbwe Route
Umbwe Route is perhaps the least patronized on Kilimanjaro. Beginning at the tropical forest, it goes between Machame Route, then meets it at Barranco Camp (3800m). The shortest of the routes, Umbwe – with its sharp climb and some acclimatization time – is one the toughest on Mt. Kilimanjaro, whereas still screening off the natures of the mountain ground with its different ecological zones and open views. Whereas the camps between Umbwe Route to Uhuru Peak are suited to take a day of acclimatization, this is still one of the more harder ways to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
The Umbwe is model for climbers who want challenging trekking, and are very assured in their capacity of the trek over constantly steep slopes. Also, for those who are well experienced this is the route to climb with, Umbwe will not delay their ability to adjust to the elevation. This route of Umbwe is also for hikers who want a private hike
Earlier climbing experience is, hence, suggested for trekkers planning to choose Umbwe Route on the way to the rooftop of Africa.
